YO EVERYONE! I'M BACK FROM PRAGUE! :):):)
i think im gonna have
jetlag lar. haha.. just like when i first reached prague. heh. on the
12 hour flight there, i slept most of the time. poor germaine was so lonely she had to turn back to play cards with jiamin. lol. i missed
Step Up during that flight lar. urgh. then we transferred to another flight from amsterdam to prague. yep. it was a short trip.
our hotel was lousy. it's a
3-star hotel. what can i expect, really. after we've put down our stuff in the rooms, we gathered again and took the
subway to the main district. the guide, who was an organiser of the advent fest, michael, led us through
wencelas square and then brought us to
Old Town square. after that, we had our first meal in prague. i was having some problems with my stomach at that time so i didnt eat much. halfway when we were allowed to go free and easy in our small groups, i had to go back to the restaurant's toilet to ease myself. after that, we just walked around lor. that nite, at the hotel, we had similar food.
a soup+maincourse+dessert. and we were already starting to be sick of it. sighs. then, we had sectionals and went to bed after that.
the next morning, we went for sightseeing. saw the
charles bridge and went to many other places too. cant really remember. will load the photos when i get them form yifan another time. yea. anyway, we had to settle our own lunch. we went to this
chinese restaurant that our guide, peter, intro-ed us to. it was cheap okay. the buffet was
79 koruna which was equivalent to around
$6. cheap rite? but the drinks have to be paid separately though. they always do that. after that, we went back to the hotel. got ready in our costumes and put on make up and stuff. then we left for an opening concert at the
Liben Castle. our choir, a kazahkstan children's choir and a south african youth choir performed. i like the south african choir's songs! they are especially nice and the way they groove to the beat was also very nice. they even had a sort of a stomp performance too! that nite, we had a long reflection on how we behaved and how we performed. sighs..
the following morning, we had to get changed into our gowns and head to
St Nicholas Church (i think so) for our performance together with the other children choirs. they were all very good lar. sighs. then we came back to the hotel. ate some cup noodles. then we changed out into our own clothes and we had to leave for our carolling performance. when we reached
Old Town Square, we saw the south african choir performing and we were like trying to sing and dance with them. haha.. our performance was thankfully not a flop 'cause we striked off
The Christmas Song. it's very nan ting. haha.. when we got off the stage, a few girls from the SA choir told us that our sops were
good. lol. what a compliment. we got some free time to wander around. took a photo of the
huge fir tree and bought a sausage sandwich to fill our tummies. then we went for the
International Gala Concert where the youth category contestants performed this time. after that, we went for a boat trip. the food wasnt nice and the trip was quite boring. we didnt dare to dance like the SA do. but overall, it was quite fun still. it was late by the time we reached the hotel and so we went to sleep.
it was finally our
competition day!! our performances have been improving bit by bit. =) by the time it was our turn to go on stage, i think we were all as ready as we can be. the performance was not bad. it was
very musical as ms tham says but sadly, we were not in tune. otherwise, we would have gotten into the Gold zone with perfect intonation and a sound that appeals to the judges. well, anyway, we got a
Silver.
75.75 points. oh, i forgot to mention that we were shifted up to the youth category because they realise our voices dont sound like children and deserves to be in the youth. haha.. at nite, we had a farewell party at
Hotel Olympik with all the other competing choirs. there were lots of interactions and taking of photos. then there were also dancing lar. haha.. then at 10 plus, we left for our hotel.
that nite, when we went back, there was a long
'reflection' session because something happened that was unpleasant. after we were dismissed, there were several conferences in several rooms. so that nite, we stayed to quite late. i slept at 1am but yifan and germaine continued talking in another room till 2am. yea.
on sunday, it was the
free-est day. we went for a
mozart tour firstly. then we headed to the
prague castle for a tour. after that, we went for lunch at the same restaurant.
yuxiao, yifan, yanneng and i sat at one table. the meal was very enjoyable because of the funny things that all of us did. haha.. after our lunch, we had our free time again from 3 plus all the way to 7pm. yuxiao, yifan and i went on our own this time. we walked from Old Town to Wencelas square 'cause yuxiao wanted to visit
New Yorker to buy clothes. lol. then after that, we went to
pizza express for dinner. the pizza's quite okay lar and it's cheap for a big piece they serve. then on the road back for old town, we went back into
Diva. we realised that some stuff were on sale and they were cheaper. so the 3 of us shared this 3 pairs of earrings which cost
99koruna(7-8dollars?). cheap lar. then we went back to
Small square, our meetin point. we asked dianfeng to accompany us back to the restaurant as yuxiao left her mug there in the afternoon. then we rushed back to small square. and decided to run to the
Gold choc shop which sells
belgian choc. =) i bought 2 boxes. that's what i could afford. heh.
then we ran back again but the teachers werent even there yet. then when everyone's reached, we went for our
marionette opera which we paid
400koruna($29) for. it was interesting. it's actually a puppet show. too bad i dont understand what they were singing. since it was mozart's year, we watched
Don Giovanni. yea. then after that, we went back to our hotel in the coach. that nite, being the last nite, we all stayed up quite late. but i didnt really go into other pple's room that nite. i decided to be weird and be a loner. so while germaine and yifan were somewhere upstairs in level 3/4, i stayed in my room at level 2 while listening to my
DBSK songs. =)) heh. then they phoned to say they will be sleeping at christina's room. oh well, so i went to sleep. after that, at
4am, they woke me up as they knocked on the door. so they came back after all. lol.
the last day. we all went to the
supermarket-Albert after having our breakfast. there, everyone went mad buying chocolates and sweets and drinks just to use up all their korunas. lol. it was such a hilarious sight. i only bought 2 figaro bars. one dark and one white. heh. plus a bar of kitkat. heh. i bought
prague kitkat! haha.. then we went back to the hotel to finish packing our stuff and finally left for the airport. ate lasagna at the airport and everyone was kop-ing bites from us. lol. at amsterdam, we ate at macdonalds. it was
super EX. it costs exactly the same in singapore for a meal, but it's in euros. so think how much a meal is after the conversion. lol. after eating, we just sat there and played snap. funny things happened along the way during and after the game lar.
just before boarding, we saw
mr toh ban sheng lar. he was boarding the same plane as us. heh. on this 12-hour flight back, i slept at the beginning, skipping the first meal they served. then woke up to a stomachache. then i think i went back to sleep. woke up again to find that
Pirates of the Carribean 2 was already showing. so i watched it. then they served either cup noodles or icecream. woke yifan up to eat it. yea. then after the show ended, i listened to music. dbsk's songs. =) haha.. then soon, they showed
Cars. but just into the show, i started feeling sleepy and so i slept instead. after that, woke again and played cards before they started serving breakfast. actually, in singapore time, it was like mid afternoon. hahaha.. finally, we reached singapore!!!
it feels really great to be back here. tho it's kinda hot now since i just came back from a cold country. heh. well, i went with my dad to fetch charlotte from the grooming palour and she looks
so pretty now. the lady tied a bandana and a ribbon for her. soo cute lar!! when i take a photo of her, i'll post it up. =) as for the photos of prague, i'll post them soon too. =)))
